Arenal Volcano & Hot Springs Day Tour
Duration: 13 hours
Location: Arenal Area, Northern Region
Estimated Departure from San José: 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
This is one of our most popular tours, offering the perfect combination of natural beauty, adventure, and relaxation. Begin your journey with a stop in the famous town of Sarchí, known as the birthplace of Costa Rican artisans. Here, admire traditional crafts and souvenirs, including the world’s largest ox cart, listed in the Guinness World Records—two stories tall, 45 feet long (14 meters), weighing 4,400 lbs (2 tons), and handcrafted over 70 days in vivid cedar wood.
Continue through scenic agricultural landscapes with pineapple and banana plantations, mango orchards, ornamental plants, and cattle ranches until you reach the charming town of La Fortuna, where a delicious typical Costa Rican lunch awaits.
Next, marvel at the impressive Arenal Volcano, an iconic natural wonder of La Fortuna de San Carlos. Previously thought inactive until a major eruption in 1968, the volcano now draws visitors worldwide eager to witness its majestic conical shape and white smoke columns rising from the summit.
After the volcano visit, unwind at one of the region’s top hot springs, enjoying the cleansing and rejuvenating effects of the thermal waters. Optional spa treatments, including massages or other wellness experiences, can be booked in advance at the resort (not included in the tour price). Baldi Hot Springs perfectly combines the four elements of nature: the volcano’s heat, flowing thermal waters, fresh rainforest air, and the fertile lands of La Fortuna. Towels and lockers are provided for your convenience.
Includes: Round-trip transportation, bilingual guide, visit to Sarchí, lunch, entrance to Arenal Volcano area, and access to hot springs with towels and locker.
